Department of Communications and IT

Main directions of activity:

• Determination and monitoring of the main directions of communications, post and ICT state policy and its corresponding legislative-normative base
• Definition of the short- mid- and long-term development strategy and priority issues for Communications, Post and ICT networks and applications; Elaboration, implementation and monitoring of corresponding projects
• Elaboration of Georgian e-Governance concept, strategic plan and program for accomplishing efficient state governance, based on the development of Information Communication Technologies
• Elaboration of technical policy for Georgia’s geostationary orbit positions and radio-technical utilities electromagnetic coincidence, corresponding to the international rules and Recommendations; Coordination of International legislative activities of its implementation
• Participation in elaboration of common numbering system of Communications and its monitoring
• Representation of Georgia and protection of its rights in international organizations, Communications, post and Information Communications Technologies Administrations

Cooperation with Communications, Post and ICT companies and financial institutions; Edition of National Postal Marks.

For the purpose of implementation above mentioned activities department co-operates with state bodies, different international and national companies and organizations. Participates in work of State Commissions and arranges international exhibitions.
