Main functions of the Service for Trade Development with Neighboring Countries and Other Countries of the Region:

  • Analyze trade turnover and work on relevant recommendations with respect to Neighboring Countries and Other Countries of the Region;
  • Conduct consulting services for business operators being in trade relations with Neighboring Countries and Other Countries of the Region; identification of their problems and requirements, and proceeding accordingly, within its competence; 
  • Provide information services for business operators interested in trade relations with Neighboring Countries and Other Countries of the Region, including the provision of information about trade concessions;
  • Explore local markets of Neighboring Countries and Other Countries of the Region, analyzing and preparing relevant recommendations for the country`s export potential expansion and optimal use;
  • Obtain information about exporters in Neighboring Countries and Other Countries of the Region; registering and categorizing them according to the field, size and other needed characteristics;
  • Develop proposals and prepare reports for further improvement of contractual basis to deepen bilateral trade-economic relations with Neighboring Countries and Other Countries of the Region;
  • Work on the establishment of Bilateral Investment Treaties (BIT) with Neighboring Countries and Other Countries of the Region;
  • Organize bilateral intergovernmental economic commission sessions with Neighboring Countries and Other Countries of the Region, prepare issues defined by the Protocol of the Commission and monitor their implementation;
  • Prepare discussion points for bilateral meetings between the delegations of Georgia and Neighboring Countries and Other Countries of the Region;
  • Cooperation with diplomatic corps, various ministries and bodies within the competence.
