“We will continue to cooperate with Georgia on various projects in the future, especially in the field of renewable energy,” – the EBRD First Vice President Jürgen Rigterink commented after the meeting with Natia Turnava, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Activities of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Georgia and the priority directions for future cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
Jürgen Rigterink highlighted that Georgia is one of the most important countries in the region in terms of cooperation for the EBRD.
“EBRD’s cooperation with Georgia is very strong. Actually, at this point, we have invested about 3.4 billion euros in over 235 and that make Georgia one of our most important countries of cooperation in the region. Actually, our investments are spread over all sectors from the financial industry to manufacturing, helping the government, etc,” – the EBRD First Vice President commented.
As Jürgen Rigterink noted, a very good and constructive meeting was held with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, focusing mainly on the energy sector.
“We are partners in this area and this partnership will continue in the future in various projects, especially in the field of renewable energy” - Jürgen Rigterink said.
