Natia Turnava Met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó. The Hungarian delegation led by Péter Szijjártó is paying an official visit to Georgia.
Natia Turnava stated that despite the global pandemic and the economic crisis, there are very good prospects of cooperation between Georgia and Hungary in terms of increasing bilateral trade as well as investment opportunities.
“Last year, despite the decline in our foreign trade, bilateral trade between Georgia and Hungary was increased by 4% and positive dynamics was observed both in import and export,” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development said.
The Ministers also discussed cooperation between the two countries in the fields of transport and tourism. It was noted that the Hungarian airline Wizz Air is the largest low-budget airline in the Georgian air market. According to Natia Turnava, Vizair’s plans for Georgia are known and they will resume regular flights soon.
Deputy Ministers of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Genadi Arveladze and Guram Guramishvili, as well as the Ambassador of Georgia to Hungary Zaal Gogsadze and the Ambassador of Hungary to Georgia, Viktoria Horvath, also attended the meeting.
