Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili is on a working visit to Brussels, Belgium, where he holds high-level meetings in the European Commission.
The main topics discussed at the meetings are the relations between Georgia and the European Union, fulfilment of the obligations defined by the Association Agreement and other priority areas of cooperation.
“I appreciate very much what Georgia is doing in terms of playing a regional role in coordinating efforts for developing the Middle Corridor, which is essential for the connection between Europe and Asia. We have discussed investments, we have discussed joint projects, further alignment of policies between Europe and Georgia and further steps for deepening our cooperation,” – the EU Commissioner for Transport, Adina-Ioana Vălean stated following the meeting.
An important topic of discussion at the meeting between the Vice Prime Minister of Georgia and Adina Ioana Vălean was the further harmonization of regulations between Europe and Georgia and steps to further deepening of cooperation.
“Europe is looking for alternative sources of energy supply, alternative routes for the European economy in general, alternative connections with Asia and main trade partners - in this regard, our country can play the role of an important and reliable partner, which Georgia is able to do today, and the potential of this cooperation is even greater,” – Levan Davitashvili noted.
