Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili met with Isbrand Ho, Executive Director of BYD Europe – a large technology and innovation corporation, and his entourage. The Deputy Ministers of Economy, Irakli Nadareishvili and Guram Guramishvili, also attended the meeting.
As it was mentioned at the meeting, BYD Corporation, which is one of the largest manufacturers of electric cars, buses and electric batteries in the world, plans to expand its activities in the region and consider Georgia as one of the locations for business development.
Vice Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili provided detailed information to potential investors about Georgia’s investment climate and liberal business environment. He also focused on Governmental business support programs in Georgia, noting that the Government support and development programs for large institutional investors are being successfully implemented in the country.
The representatives BYD also expressed interested in Georgia’s free trade regimes, especially in the Free Trade regime with the European Union.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working to further development of the cooperation with BYD Corporation.
