Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili and Georg Adler, economic advisor to the Chancellor of Austria, at the meeting held in the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, discussed deepening of the long-term partnership between Georgia and Austria and trade-economic relations. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Austria, Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, Deputy Minister of Economy Gennadi Arveladze and the Head of the Department of Trade Development and International Economic Relations of the Ministry, Givi Zedelashvili also attended the meeting. Georg Adler was in Georgia during the visit of the Federal Chancellor of Austria, Karl Nehammer.

As it was noted at the meeting, cooperation between the two countries is developing very dynamically in various directions, including tourism, agriculture, energy, environmental protection, logistics, food industry and other fields. 2022 marked an important date in the history of bilateral relations - the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Austria.

Levan Davitashvili thanked Georg Adler for Austria’s unwavering support for Georgia’s European aspirations and European choices. According to the assessment of the Vice Prime Minister, the Austrian government and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) have made a special contribution to the development of various branches of the Georgian economy.

Conversation also covered successful operation of Austrian companies in Georgia, important investment projects and discussed the potential that exists in terms of cooperation between the business circles of the two countries, including in such sectors as renewable energy, tourism, real estate, production, logistics and other fields. It was noted that the Austrian Chamber of Commerce is actively involved in the organization of joint Georgian-Austrian events, including business forums, in order to promote the development of business relations.
