As it was mentioned, the project is an example of successful cooperation between the European Union and Georgia in the field of energy, in particular – in the renewable energy sector. The Kartli wind power plant project was implemented with the financial support of the European Union in 2016. Its capacity is 20,7 MW, production – 84,1 mln. KW/h. It is the first and only project of its kind in the region so far.

It was emphasized by the parties both at the meeting and at the press conference that the partnership between Georgia and the European Union in the field of renewable energy development is one of the priority and promising directions and will continue in the future in the form of specific projects.

Kadri Simson pointed out that it is important and necessary to invest in the renewable energy sector in Georgia, in particular in the wind and solar power plants, so that electricity trade can be carried out smoothly throughout the year.
