In 2024, tourism revenues reached a record high of 4425,4 million USD, marking a 7,3% increase compared to the previous year. The fourth quarter of 2024 also saw a notable rise in travel revenues, amounting to 963,7 million USD, which represents a 10,3% growth compared to the same period in the previous year.
Tourism receipts from several countries experienced significant growth, including Israel (up by 128,3 million USD), Azerbaijan (up by 25,8 million USD), Iran (up by 22,9 million USD), the European Union (up by 21,6 million USD), and Saudi Arabia (up by 21,4 million USD). This upward trend in tourism revenues during the fourth quarter was particularly pronounced from countries such as Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Azerbaijan, among others.
"This represents a significant increase compared to the previous year. Despite the challenges, the fourth quarter of 2024 proved to be quite productive, with tourism revenues reaching 963,7 million USD, reflecting a 10,3% quarter-on-quarter increase. According to available statistics, the government's forecast for the tourism sector's growth and income in 2024 has been justified, with revenues expected to approach 4,5 billion USD," – the First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili, stated.
