According to preliminary estimates, Georgia’s economic growth reached 8,0% in July 2026, whilst economic growth for January-July equalled 7,9%. The positive economic growth trends clearly indicate that despite global external shocks, geopolitical tensions and existing challenges, the country’s economy maintains resilience and stability.
The main driver of economic growth is the increased activity of the private sector and business. Specifically, in July 2026, the turnover of VAT-registered enterprises increased by 12,6% compared to the same month of the previous year, whilst the number of newly registered enterprises was increased by 14,1% compared to July last year. The growth in business turnover and the positive dynamics of new enterprise registrations highlight both increased entrepreneurial activity and investor and business confidence in the country’s economic environment.
Furthermore, the high economic growth recorded in January-July was significantly supported by positive trends in foreign trade. In January-July, total exports of goods increased by 21,6%, reaching 4670,2 million USD. Particularly impressive growth was recorded in domestic exports (exports excluding re-exports), where growth reached 64,1%, hitting 2854,3 million USD.
Sector-wise, a significant positive contribution to July’s economic growth was made by increased activity in manufacturing, information and communication, financial and insurance activities, healthcare, mining and quarrying, transport and storage, trade, real estate activities, and the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning. These figures once again confirm that Georgia’s economic growth is dynamic and diversified.
