Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Inga Pkhaladze, met with Hongpeng Liu, the Director of the Energy Division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). The sides discussed issues regarding energy efficiency and renewable energy development, current and future areas of cooperation between Georgia and UNESCAP, the sustainable development agenda and ongoing reforms in the energy sector.

During the meeting, particular emphasis was placed on the importance of deepening regional cooperation, promoting the development of a green economy and the role of international partnerships in the green energy transition process. The parties also discussed opportunities for implementing innovative approaches and modern technologies in the energy sector.

The bilateral meeting, held at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, was also attended by Margalita Arabidze, Head of the Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy Policy and Sustainable Development Department of the Ministry, and Omar Tsereteli, Deputy Head of the same department.
