Functions of the of Investment Policy and Support Department:

  • Promote the development of Georgia’s investment policy, the implementation of investments, and the creation of a favorable investment environment; coordinate and monitor the measures necessary for their implementation. 
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination among state institutions in support of investment policy implementation; ensure appropriate responses, within the policy framework, to large-scale and/or strategic investment projects. 
  • Prepare detailed analyses of specific investment projects, when necessary. 
  • Maintain direct and close communication with investors and provide them with appropriate support. 
  • Analyze the legislative framework related to investment policy and the investment environment and prepare recommendations for its improvement. 
  • Develop and monitor the investment strategy. 
  • Request information from relevant stakeholders and organize consultations, where necessary. 
  • Identify challenges and development opportunities arising during the implementation of investment policy. 
  • Promote the implementation of initiatives and reforms aimed at increasing investment and enhancing the country’s investment attractiveness.
