Functions of Economic Analysis and Reforms Department:

  • Conduct  analysis of the country's  economic situation and developments; 
  • Identify main economic trends based on the assessment of economic reports/outlooks;
  • Identify and access  the country's macroeconomic risks and develop recommendations to support economic stability;
  • Prepare periodical reports for the senior management and relevant Ministry’s departments regarding economic developments in the country;
  • If necessary, conduct in depth analysis of specific economic processes/issues;
  • Request information from relevant parties/stakeholders (the National Bank of Georgia, Ministry of Finance of Georgia, experts and others) and where necessary, organize consultations;
  • Identify the challenges and opportunities for further development of the economy;
  • Support design and implementation process of growth oriented reforms and initiatives; 
  • Evaluate and monitor initiatives, policies, and decisions  that have significant impact on the economy and business environment;
  • Analyze the business environment  and develop proposals for further improvement in cooperation with  relevant stakeholders);
  • Conduct analysis of investment environment;
  • Elaboration of investment policy and prepare proposals to improve investment environment;
  • If necessary, identify directions of industrial policy of the country, determine competitive directions/fields of the economy and support development process;
  • Establish effective communication channels to gather information regarding bottlenecks of economy and opportunities for further development;
  • Analyze and promote the implementation of the best international practice to enhance economic efficiency and competitiveness.
