Functions of Economic Policy Department: 

• Participate in the elaboration of economic policy of the country;
• Conduct economic policy planning process; сoordinate the policy implementationж monitor and evaluate of policy implementation with the involvement of interested parties; 
• Analyze gaps identified during the monitoring process and develop relevant recommendations. 
• Prepare progress reports, within the scope of competence, on the implementation of  action plans under policy documents 
• Participate in policy development over the priorities of the country, including SMEs development, improvement of business environment, state owned property management and carrying out of relevant measures with the involvement of stakeholders; 
• Participate in the development of the country's economic reforms and the institutional and legal regulatory framework; 
• Participate, together with relevant public institutions, in the development of sectoral economic policies;
• Facilitate dialogue and strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors;
• Conduct Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) on draft laws and other legislative or policy initiatives;
• Cooperate with international organizations, participate in state and intergovernmental negotiations and implement relevant measures within the scope of competence; 
• Prepare analytical surveys on Georgia's performance in international , within the scope of competence;
• Prepare proposals on the formulation and implementation of state policy related to the management and disposal of state-owned property;
• Study and assessment of the current situation in Georgia’s labor market; 
• Conduct labour market demand survey and analysis in cooperation with donors and international organizations;
• Identify in-demand occupations and qualifications in cooperation with the private sector and prepare relevant recommendations for the Ministry's leadership and other interested public institutions;
• Participate, within the scope of competence, in the preparation of documents related to labor market conditions;
• Cooperate with state institutions and organizations in the collection and exchange of labor market information; facilitate the operation of Labor Market Information System (LMIS).
