Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, within the frames of the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, met with Serbian Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade, Tomislav Momirović.
Priority areas of bilateral trade and economic cooperation were the main topics of the dialogue. It was noted that during the recent years the dynamics of bilateral trade and export growth in Serbia was observed. In particular, in 2022, the volume of trade was increased by 152%, and the export - by 421%. A similar situation was observed in the 9 months of 2023 - trade turnover was increased by 72% percent, and exports increased by 32%. Despite this, the parties agreed that the potential for trade is great, and also emphasized the need to further develop business ties between the countries and for this purpose, the importance of holding more business forums and trade missions was also discussed.
Special emphasise was paid to the importance of continuing the economic dialogue between Georgia and Serbia and, in this regard, holding the session of the Intergovernmental Economic Cooperation Commission was particularly underlined.
Issues of development of bilateral ties in tourism, information technology, transport, logistics, renewable energy and other fields of economy were also discussed during the meeting.
