Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili held a meeting with the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ilkham Makhkamov, participating in the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Guram Guramishvili also attended the meeting.

Priority directions of bilateral economic cooperation with special attention paid to transport and logistics were discussed at the meeting. It was noted that Uzbekistan is interested in increasing cargo turnover through the Middle Transport Corridor, which is the shortest route between Europe and Asia. The Uzbek side also expressed interest in the logistics sector of Georgia.

The sides also emphasized the importance of cooperation in bilateral trade, tourism, civil aviation, financial services and other areas of the economy.
