First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili, met with the Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, who was on a working visit to Georgia.
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Davit Songhulashvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Genadi Arveladze, and the Head of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, Irakli Beraia also attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed existing trade and economic cooperation between Georgia and Armenia and ways to further deepen it. As the First Vice Prime Minister stated, Georgia and Armenia have made significant progress in developing trade and economic relations. Davitashvili noted that Armenia is an important trade and economic partner for Georgia, but the existing positive statistical data do not truly reflect the opportunities that exist between the two countries.
During the meeting, the importance of greater communication between the business circles of the two countries, the possibility of implementing joint business projects, and strengthening cooperation in regional and global projects were emphasized.
At the end of the meeting, First Vice Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili expressed hope that Armenia would be represented at a high level at the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum on October 22-23.
