Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met with representatives of leading international companies in the field of remote delivery of business services and processes, visiting Tbilisi at the invitation of the Enterprise Georgia Agency. Deputy Minister Irakli Nadareishvili and Director of the Enterprise Georgia Agency, Mikheil Khidureli also attended the meeting.
Mariam Kvrivishvili provided guests with information on the country’s investment policy and economic indicators, and discussed opportunities for further developing the BPO sector in Georgia to an even higher level. As stated at the meeting, over the past few years, Georgia has established itself as one of the leading regional hubs for remote delivery of business services and processes. As a result, companies included in the industry’s top five have started operating in the country, serving leading brands from Georgia, employing thousands of people, and implementing the highest international standards in the country.
“Our goal is to attract foreign investments in both traditional and new business directions. One of the sectors that has practically been built from scratch in recent years is the so-called BPO sector, business process outsourcing, where we have managed to attract global players in a very short period – this means several thousand new jobs and the export of services that this sector provides worldwide” – Irakli Nadareishvili noted.
The Deputy Minister highlighted that the IT technology sector is similarly the sector where the state has also managed to attract dozens of global players and create tens of thousands of high-tech, high-paying jobs.
“It was in this format that the meeting with the heads of leading companies in the BPO sector was held – they are getting acquainted with the business climate in Georgia and the specific offers that the state provides to leading players in this field worldwide” – Irakli Nadareishvili stated.
A BPO Sector Leaders’ Summit was also organized by the Enterprise Georgia Agency, in which nearly 20 representatives of leading international companies in the field of remote delivery of business services and processes participated. Within the framework of the summit, the Agency’s director, Mikheil Khidureli, introduced guests to Georgia’s investment potential and spoke about the opportunities and advantages the country offers to investors.
