Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, along with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, inspected the work being done to develop the technological hub in the former Parliament building in Kutaisi.

Work on the technological hub project is moving forward intensively, both inside and outside the building. A large portion of the infrastructure work has already been completed or is in the final phase. This includes infrastructure development for the external area, an irrigation system, a square, paths, green spaces, and exterior lighting. According to the project, the heating and cooling systems and engineering communications are also being rehabilitated and the infrastructure is being organized on the building's external perimeter, among other things.

As the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development noted, the progress of the project and the work completed so far make it possible to say that the Kutaisi Technological Hub will be a multifunctional space of regional scale and importance, not just for Georgia.

“The technological hub will be a unique space, bringing together modern technological laboratories and offering educational programs, including an international IT and technology school. As a result, Georgia will have a space that meets international standards for the development of technology and the support of innovative products. It will be a center of regional scale and attraction, which will play a significant role in the overall economic development of the country” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development said.

The technological hub will house several laboratories, an interactive science and technology museum, and an artificial intelligence center. Some of the equipment and machinery required for the laboratories have already been stored, while the rest are in transit.
