Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, attended the opening ceremony of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), where the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, delivered a speech. Georgia participated in the exhibition with the status of Guest Country of Honour.
Mariam Kvrivishvili stated that the Prime Minister of Georgia spoke comprehensively in his speech about Georgia’s achievements and planned projects, including infrastructure projects, which will strengthen our country’s positioning, particularly in terms of connectivity.
“The Prime Minister of Georgia spoke extensively about the close and strategic cooperation that exists between Georgia and the People’s Republic of China, including the plans and new opportunities that will further solidify relations between the countries, as well as people-to-people ties, and increase trade and economic turnover. The China International Import Expo is a crucial platform for Georgia. It is especially gratifying that Georgia is being presented as the Guest of Honour at this exhibition for the first time” – Mariam Kvrivishvili noted.
On the same day, the Prime Ministers of Georgia and China officially opened the Georgian pavilion.
“At the exhibition, we will have the opportunity in the coming days to proudly present Georgian products, gastronomy, and Georgian wine, and increase the awareness of Georgian products in the Chinese market. This platform also gives us the opportunity to support the nearly 40 companies with us at the exhibition in establishing business relations with Chinese corporations, so that we can annually increase the trade turnover and the export of Georgian products to the Chinese market” – Mariam Kvrivishvili stated.
Georgia was presented at the China International Import Expo on an unprecedented scale with three exhibition spaces covering an area of 1000 square meters: the National Pavilion, the Food and Beverage Products Zone, and the Clothing and Accessories Section. With the support of the Enterprise Georgia Agency, nearly 40 Georgian companies are attending the exhibition. This year, a gastronomic corner has been set up in the National Pavilion, masterclasses on preparing traditional Georgian dishes, wine tastings, and performances of national dance and song are being held. The partners of the Enterprise Georgia Agency are the National Tourism Administration and the National Wine Agency.
