Mariam Kvrivishvili Discussed Prospects of Entering of Global Blue to Georgian Market with Company’s Vice President

Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development held a meeting with Khalil Achkar, Vice President of the international company Global Blue. This company is a world leader in the field of Tax Free Shopping and payment technologies.

The meeting addressed Georgia’s economic development trends, with particular attention paid to tourism, civil aviation, retail, and other related sectors. It was noted that various tourist products are being actively introduced in Georgia, which contribute to attracting more high-spending visitors to the country.

As noted at the meeting, due to the stable development of the Georgian economy, as well as the increasing dynamics of added value in tourism and its related fields, Global Blue is considering entering the Georgian market. It was also said that this will strengthen the economic effect of tourism in Georgia, as global standards for Tax Free services increase tourist spending. It was also emphasized that Global Blue starting operations in Georgia will also have a positive impact on the retail sector – it will contribute to increased competitiveness and lead to the entry of more premium brands into the local market, as well as positively reflecting on the development of the digital economy.
