Mariam Kvrivishvili at Opening Ceremony of UN International Maritime Organization Assembly’s 34th Session Held in London

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, participated in the opening ceremony of the 34th session of the UN International Maritime Organization (IMO) Assembly held in London.

“Participation in the Assembly is important for every country. Together with partner countries, we discuss priority issues: strengthening economic cooperation, the development of the maritime transport direction, its safety, as well as its further development and close cooperation between countries in terms of deepening relations in the transport sphere” – Mariam Kvrivishvili commented.

At the event, which is attended by the participants from over 150 countries, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development will deliver a speech on November 25 and speak about the trends in Georgia’s maritime sector, as well as current and planned reforms.

Within the framework of the visit to London, Mariam Kvrivishvili held meetings with colleague ministers from countries participating in the Assembly, including the Greek Minister of Maritime Affairs, the Deputy Minister to the President of Cyprus for Shipping, and the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure.

Georgian delegation includes the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Tamar Ioseliani, and the Deputy Director of the Maritime Transport Agency, Natia Miminoshvili.
