Mariam Kvrivishvili Participated in Opening of EU-Organized Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and Connectivity Investment Forum

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, participated in the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and Connectivity Investment Forum, which was co-organized by the European Union under the Global Gateway initiative in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

It is noteworthy that the goal of the forum is to strengthen the EU’s cooperation with partner states along the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor to facilitate transport links between Europe and Asia.

Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodzhaev and Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov, as well as EU Commissioner for International Partnerships Jozef Síkela and EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos opened the forum.

A panel discussion was planned during the event, where Mariam Kvrivishvili presented the Georgian Government’s vision and plans on how the country can contribute to the development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and the establishment of closer transport links between our region and the European Union.

Mariam Kvrivishvili also participated in the meeting of the Transport Ministers of the EU, Central Asia, South Caucasus, and Black Sea region countries, planned within the framework of the forum.
Deputy Ministers Tamar Ioseliani and Genadi Arveladze, as well as the Ambassador of Georgia to Uzbekistan, David Kotaria, represent the Georgian delegation.
