Alongside high economic growth in the third quarter of 2025, positive trends continue in the business sector in terms of both turnover and output, as well as employment.
In the third quarter of 2025, the turnover of the business sector increased by 10,0% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching a record amount of 64,7 billion GEL.
The output of the business sector is also at a record level. In the third quarter of 2025, the business sector output amounted to 25,3 billion GEL, which is 9,7% higher than the figure for the corresponding period last year. In the third quarter, the output of large enterprises increased by 10,9%, while the growth in output of small and medium enterprises constituted 8,7%.
In the third quarter of 2025, the increase in the output was recorded in all sectors, with significant contributions to this growth made by the increases in output in such sectors as information and communication, trade, transportation and storage, accommodation and food service activities, arts, entertainment, recreation and healthcare.
In January-September 2025, the turnover of the business sector was increased by 12,2% reaching 180,9 billion GEL, while the output of the business sector reached 69,3 billion GEL, which is by 15,5% higher figure compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
In the three quarters of 2025, significant contributions to the output growth were made by the increases in output in the following sectors: information and communication, trade, transportation and storage, healthcare, accommodation and food service activities, arts, entertainment and recreation, and manufacturing.
The number of employed persons is also a record figure in the third quarter, which was increased by 26,3 thousand or 3,3% compared to the third quarter of the previous year, reaching 814,7 thousand.
In the third quarter of 2025, the average monthly salary for hired employees was increased by 231 GEL or 10,5% and amounted to 2421 GEL.
Compared to the third quarter of the previous year, the number of workplaces has increased in almost all sectors of the economy. The highest contributions to employment growth were made by such sectors as trade; information and communication; accommodation and food service activities; transportation and storage; construction; and professional, scientific and technical activities.
