Mariam Kvrivishvili Briefs Donor Organizations on Current and Planned Projects in the Transport and Logistics Sector

Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, alongside Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili, met with Rolande Pryce, World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus, and Anders Pettersson, Deputy Country Director for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Georgia.

As noted during the meeting, the development of transport and logistics infrastructure and enhancing the competitiveness of the Middle Corridor are top priorities for the Georgian government. Consequently, projects such as the construction of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port are of particular importance.

The government’s vision for the development of the Anaklia Port, its surrounding territory, and the railway and road infrastructure leading to the port was presented. Discussions also covered the renewal of rolling stock (wagons and locomotives) by Georgian Railway.

Deputy Minister of Economy Tamar Ioseliani, First Deputy Minister of Finance Giorgi Kakauridze, Deputy Minister Eka Guntsadze, Director of Anaklia Deep Sea Port Zurab Sichinava, and CFO of Georgian Railway Irakli Titvinidze also attended the meeting.
