Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili was hosted by Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade of Serbia, Jagoda Lazarevic, at Eagle Hills’ Belgrade Waterfront.

Belgrade Waterfront is a large-scale urban project implemented through a partnership between the Serbian government and the company Eagle Hills Properties. The project creates a new city center and an international destination, which includes hotel and commercial spaces, a pedestrian boulevard, residential houses, schools, and kindergartens. Eagle Hills owns 68% of the business, while the Serbian government is the owner of a 32% share.

“We had the opportunity, hosted by the Serbian Minister of Internal and Foreign Trade, to visit the large-scale urban project in Belgrade of the company with which we signed a most important agreement, protecting state interests. We will receive an unprecedented investment of 6,6 billion USD from Eagle Hills. The investment volume of the ongoing Eagle Hills project in Serbia is 4 billion Euros at this stage. Many components coincide with the Georgian project, including accommodation facilities, as well as residential, commercial, entertainment and recreational spaces. Of course, we were interested in what effect and influence this investment had on the Serbian economy. We heard many positive assessments, including in terms of employment growth since about 25000 new jobs were created and this investment had an effect of about 9 billion Euros on the Serbian economy,” –Mariam Kvrivishvili noted.

The Minister was briefed on the Belgrade Waterfront project itself and the stages of its implementation, and also visited the Belgrade Waterfront showroom and the company’s head office, which is located in a historical building built in 1907 in the center of Belgrade.

Mariam Kvrivishvili visited the Eagle Hills’ project along with the delegation. The general manager of Eagle Hills Belgrade, Zorana Burlić, hosted the ministers of the two countries.
