5,5 Million Tourist Visits - In 2025, Georgia Hosted a Record and Historical Number of Tourists

2025 was exceptionally successful for Georgia’s tourism industry. The country hosted a record and historical number of tourists - in 2025, over 5,5 million tourist visits were recorded, which is a historical maximum and a record figure. Compared to 2024, the growth of tourist visits amounted to 8,4%. 

In 2025, a total number of 7 803 239 international traveler visits were recorded in Georgia, which is by 5,9% higher figure compared to 2024. It is significant that in 2025, visits from the EU countries and the United Kingdom were increased by 14% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached a record figure of 499890 visits. Specifically, record-high visits were recorded from the United Kingdom (+39,1%); Greece (+28,2%); France (+17,4%); Italy (+39,4%); Spain (+48,6%). 

In addition to the EU and the United Kingdom, growth is recorded from other target tourism markets. In 2025, 145 513 visits were carried out from the Gulf countries – the growth amounted to 3,4%. The highest growth in visits was recorded from Saudi Arabia (+9,1%). 

In 2025, a particular increase in visits was recorded from the following countries: Israel (+29,4%); Azerbaijan (+33,2%); China (+ 44,4%). 

In 2025, the 4th quarter was particularly distinguished by international tourist visits. In the period of September-December of the last year, a record increase in international tourist visits was recorded and reached a historical maximum of 1 214 772 visits; the growth equals to 10,5% compared to the same period of 2024. As for international traveler visits, in the period of September-December of last year, 1 693 484 international traveler visits took place in Georgia; the growth is 7,6% compared to the 4th quarter of 2024.
