Deputy Ministers of Economy and Sustainable Development, Tamar Ioseliani and Irakli Nadareishvili held a meeting with Tarek Mahmoud, Visa’s Regional President for Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The meeting touched upon directions of bilateral cooperation, including tourism, aviation, support for small and medium-sized businesses and other aspects.
Particular attention was paid to the spaces opened at Tbilisi International Airport in partnership with Visa. The Visa Business Lounge project was also discussed, which will become operational at Kutaisi International Airport in March of this year. The total value of the project exceeds one million GEL and it will be located over a 270m2 area within the airport space.
The Regional President of Visa spoke about the company’s other initiatives aimed at the development of electronic services in the country. Emphasis was placed on Visa’s involvement in promoting local tourism and implementing joint activities, as well as in the process of developing digital skills for micro, small, and medium-sized businesses. The Regional President of Visa also expressed interest in the decisions made by the Georgian government regarding the development of the innovative ecosystem, which has made the IT industry one of the fastest-growing in the country.
Head of the National Tourism Administration, Maia Omiadze and Chairman of the Innovation and Technology Agency, Avtandil Kasradze also attended the meeting.
