Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, opened the Georgia-Croatia Business Forum. In her speech, the Minister noted that meetings between the business sectors of the two countries in this format serve as an important and effective platform for deepening trade and economic relations, as well as for exchanging ideas and experiences. She emphasized that this is a real opportunity to launch joint projects, investments and long-term partnerships.
“I am confident that the meeting between our countries’ private sectors in this format will truly become the foundation for further tangible success. Today, each of you will have the opportunity to establish new contacts and exchange views so that we may see tangible results in strengthening economic and trade relations between our countries in the coming years. It should be noted that, at this stage, we have quite a large space and significant opportunities for deepening economic relations between Georgia and Croatia” –Mariam Kvrivishvili stated.
The event was held within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, to Georgia, and approximately 100 businessmen from both countries participated in the Forum. Mariam Kvrivishvili thanked the Croatian President for his visit and highlighted the positive dynamics and progress in the development of economic ties between the countries in recent years. The Minister expressed hope that these business meetings would facilitate closer ties between the business circles of Georgia and Croatia, thereby increasing bilateral trade, encouraging B2B connections, and improving the quality of cooperation in various sectors of the economy.
In her speech, Mariam Kvrivishvili emphasized that the private sector is the foundation for strengthening trade and economic relations. The Minister informed the Croatian representatives about projects, mechanisms, and instruments initiated by the Georgian government to support the private sector, including small, medium, and large enterprises, which have ensured business stability and rapid development. She also spoke extensively about the progress made in Georgia’s economic growth in recent years, highlighting sectors that play a special role in the country’s development and whose further strengthening is a top government priority. Those sectors include energy, transport, logistics, IT, education, hospitality, etc.
