Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, participated in the ceremony marking the inclusion of Bank of Georgia, a member of Lion Finance Group, into the FTSE 100 index. To commemorate this achievement, the trading day at the London Stock Exchange (LSE) concluded with the traditional bell-ringing ceremony. The bank has become the first company from Georgia to secure a place among the top 100 leading companies on the London Stock Exchange.
As the Minister noted, the Georgian financial sector stands out in the wider region for its health, stability, resilience, and high liquidity, which is further evidenced by investor confidence, key financial indicators, and assessments by international rating agencies.
“Georgia is open for investment today, offering international capital stable and sustainable economic growth, a business-friendly environment, and a developed financial infrastructure. Therefore, the success of both Bank of Georgia and other Georgian companies in international financial markets once again confirms the high level of credibility that international investors have in Georgia’s economy,” – Mariam Kvrivishvili stated.
The bell-ringing ceremony is symbolic and traditional event. This time the event was attended by representatives of both Georgian and international financial institutions, as well as investors.
