Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili. met with a delegation from the US Department of State.

Georgian side expressed readiness towards resetting bilateral relations and restoring strategic cooperation.

The parties discussed priority areas of economic cooperation between the two countries, including in the fields of transport, logistics and energy.

Emphasis was placed on strengthening the role of Georgia within the Middle Corridor and increasing regional connectivity. The high interest of America regarding the development of the Middle Corridor was also noted. Focus was made on American investments in Georgia, including the Poti New Seaport expansion project (PACE) which is being implemented with the support of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

The parties positively assessed the current dynamics of bilateral economic cooperation and noted that the existence of dialogue will have a positive impact on the process of restoring strategic cooperation between the two countries.
