Positive trend in the country’s foreign trade continues. In May 2026, according to preliminary data, exports was increased by 15,3%, reaching a record volume for May of 668,6 million USD. In January-May, exports showed a 19,8% growth. During the first five months of the current year, Georgia exported products of a record total value of USD 3108,5 million.
Notably, in May, the trade turnover reached a record high for the month, totaling USD 2230,5 million, which is 7,9% higher compared to the same period last year. In January-May, trade turnover was increased by 3,7% and equaled a record 10439,7 million USD.
The trade deficit for January-May 2026 stood at 4222,7 million USD, improving by 653,2 million USD compared to the previous year.
It is worth noting that record volumes of exports and trade turnover were also recorded in 2025. In 2025, exports was increased by 11,2% to 7,3 billion USD, while trade turnover grew by 10,5%, amounting to USD 25,9 billion.
