Mariam Kvrivishvili, Along with the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Reviewed the Works Completed for the Summer Tourist Season at Batumi International Airport

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, together with the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Zurab Pataradze, reviewed the works carried out at Batumi International Airport for the summer tourist season.

It was noted that Batumi Airport meets the current tourist season with full readiness and is prepared to seamlessly serve the growing passenger traffic.

The discussion on-site also touched upon plans related to the navigation season, updated flight schedules, and issues regarding the efficient handling of the increasing passenger flow.

The General Manager of the airport’s operating company, TAV Georgia, Tea Zakaradze, introduced the progress of the operational process to the Minister and the Chairman of the Government. She also presented the vision for the expansion of Batumi Airport on-site.

According to the project, new spaces with an area of approximately 1000 m² are being added to the existing 8000 m² of the Batumi International Airport terminal, covering both operational and administrative zones. The combination of ongoing and completed works across various areas will increase the overall capacity of Batumi International Airport by up to 22,25%.

In 2025, the annual passenger traffic at Batumi International Airport reached a record figure of 1230200 passengers, which is 29% higher compared to the data from 2024.
During the January-May 2026, the number of flights operated in Georgia increased by 8% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Along with Mariam Kvrivishvili and Zurab Pataradze, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Tamar Ioseliani, attended the working meeting held at Batumi International Airport.
