Mariam Kvrivishvili Met with Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, State Secretary of Ministry of Economy and Energy of Hungary and State Secretary of Ministry of Energy of Romania within 12th Green Energy Corridor Ministerial Framework

Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met with the Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, Parviz Shahbazov, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Energy of Hungary, András Tóth, and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of Romania, Cristian Bușoi.

The meeting was held within the framework of the 12th Green Energy Corridor Ministerial ongoing in Baku.

During the meeting, representatives of the participant countries of the Green Energy Corridor discussed current topical issues of the project, including the feasibility study and the next steps for project development.

Attention was focused on the importance of cooperation within the framework of the Agreement on a Strategic Partnership in the Field of Green Energy Development and Transmission among Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary.

The progress of the Black Sea Submarine Cable project was also discussed. Mariam Kvrivishvili provided the meeting participants with detailed information regarding this matter and highlighted Georgia’s 10-Year Energy Development Plan and its significance for the entire region’s energy system.

It was also emphasized during the meeting that the implementation of the project is of paramount importance both for regional energy security and for creating a new route for green energy and ensuring connectivity between the South Caucasus and Europe.
