Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Irakli Nadareishvili participated in a panel discussion at SWITCH 2026 (Singapore Innovation and Technology Week), one of Asia’s largest technology forums held in Singapore.

In his speech, the Deputy Minister highlighted Georgia’s rapid economic growth and macroeconomic stability:

“Georgia’s economy has been growing at a rapid pace over the past few years. Between 2021 and 2025, our Gross Domestic Product grew by an average of 9,3% annually. Our exports doubled, while Foreign Direct Investments attracted over the same period averaged 6,3% of the country’s GDP annually. We have some of the strongest macroeconomic parameters in the wider region, and most international financial institutions project economic growth of up to 6% for Georgia over the next five years. Naturally, this strong economic performance is not accidental, but reflects the readiness of the Georgian Government to build an open, competitive, business-friendly, and business-oriented economy by supporting and facilitating investment, expanding trade, and investing in human capital,” – Irakli Nadareishvili noted.

The Deputy Minister also focused on Georgia’s role in the Middle Corridor:

“Geopolitical developments in recent years have sharply increased the importance of and demand for this corridor as an alternative route for the transit of goods and services between East and West, specifically between China and Europe. Georgia’s location is central to these gateways. When discussing Georgia’s economic development, we must take into account our country’s logistical and transit role in this region,” – Irakli Nadareishvili stated during the discussion.

According to him, over the past decade, the Government of Georgia has been actively involved in developing a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy.

At the exhibition held within the week, Georgia was presented for the first time with its national pavilion, StartUP in Georgia, which generated significant interest among visitors. Facilitated by the Georgia Innovation and Technology Agency, Georgian startups, Clinova, Dunno, Omniform Systems, Vybe, and PhytoTester, participated in the event. The exhibition provided startups with the opportunity to establish new business contacts and meet potential international partners.

Along with Irakli Nadareishvili, Chairman of the Georgia Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) Avtandil Kasradze participated in the events and meetings scheduled within SWITCH 2026 in Singapore.

Singapore Innovation and Technology Week brings together more than 400 international participants and hosts over 25 000 visitors annually.
