“Development of the Southern Gas Corridor as well as the expansion of the Southern Caucasia Pipeline and accomplishment of the Shah-Deniz 2 is of outmost importance for our country,” – the First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Dimitry Kumsishvili stated during his visit to Azerbaijan, where he attended the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council.
According to Dimitry Kumsishvili, Georgia will greatly benefit from the project since the country will receive the gas of actually doubled volume of the volume it receives today. “If today we receive 800 million m3 of gas, in 2022 this volume will be increased up to 1,600 million cubic meters. This, of course, will reflect on the economic development and energy security of our country,” – the First Vice Prime Minister stated.
