Functions of the Energy Reforms Department:

  • Coordination of the implementation of reforms, activities, and programs planned in the energy sector in accordance with the requirements of the country's integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures; coordination of the participation of international donor organizations in this process; participation, within its competence, in negotiations and legal cooperation with such organizations, where necessary with the involvement of the Legal Department. 
  • Management and coordination of activities related to international relations in the energy sector. 
  • Participation, within its competence, in the activities of relevant structures of international organizations operating in the energy field. 
  • Collection, processing, and analysis of information regarding projects, presentations, meetings, and other events planned in connection with European integration issues; preparation of reports and submission of relevant recommendations to the Ministry’s leadership. 
  • Coordination of the Ministry’s relations with government bodies of other states and international organizations in the energy sector. 
  • Where necessary, in coordination with the Legal Department, review and preparation of draft international agreements; participation in negotiations; preparation of opinions and conclusions; coordination of the signing of agreements and other actions prescribed by law. 
  • Fulfillment of obligations undertaken within the framework of cooperation with international organizations in the electricity and natural gas sectors.
