Giorgi Gakharia Met Representaives of Business Associations

“Today we are here to discuss those topical issues that the representatives of Georgian business sector find to be essential. We want this meeting to be open, effective and productive,” – Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia said at the meeting with the representatives of the business associations held at the Tbilisi Marriott Hotel. Georgian Parliament Speaker, Irakli Kobakhidze was the special guest at the meeting.

“On-going processes in the Georgian Parliament, I mean the work on the constitutional changes, those positive initiatives are directly linked to the routine of the business activities. We asked the Speaker of Georgian Parliament to meet business sector representatives in order to discuss those issued and he confirmed his readiness. Our main objective should be targeted on rapid economic growth. Creating new work-places is the priority for us and we clearly understand that the FDI and investments in general are the most important guarantee of economic growth,” – Giorgi Gakharia stated.

Speaker of Georgian Parliament expressed gratefulness to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development for organizing such a meeting and noted that the Constitutional Commission is ready to discuss any regulation, which might become the issue within the working process, with the representatives of the business sector.

“We are actively working on Constitutional changes and creating new system of democratic governance. We are elaborating such a constitutional model, which excludes any possibilities of autocracy in Georgia. The Constitution should serve two main objectives - provide pluralism and democracy and create the system of stabile governance. We aim to find perfect balance of those two objectives,” – Irakli Kobakhidze commented.
