Within the frames of the official visit to the Republic of Armenia, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia had a meeting with the Prime Minister of Georgia Karen Karapetyan. Giorgi Gakharia and Karen Karapetyan discussed the existing economic relations between Georgia and Armenia and overview the significant plans regarding the further enhancing of the trade, tourism, export, joint ventures and introducing of new products to the markets of the third countries markets witch will be achieved upon the joint efforts and cooperation. Giorgi Gakharia expressed gratefulness to the Armenian Prime Minister for warm hospitality and noted that deepening of the trade and economic relations between Georgia and Armenia is of outmost importance in terms of bilateral as well as the regional and international relations.

“During the meeting with the Prime Minister, we discussed very remarkable issues for both countries. Since there is no political tension between Georgia and Armenia, we should be focused on economic development. Therefore, we set out action-plans to promote our economic growth, strengthen relationship between our companies, develop trade, facilitate creation of the joint ventures in order to introduce jointly elaborated products to the markets of the third parties, promote tourism, support logistics, high technologies, etc. In fact, we establish such an inter-agency infrastructure, which will encourage the private sector to cooperate closer and thus contribute to the deepening of the economic relations and economic growth of the two countries,” – Giorgi Gakharia stated after the meeting with the Prime Minister of Armenia. 

Deputy Ministers of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Nino Javakhadze and Giorgi Cherkezishvili, Deputy CEO of the Partnership Fund Natia Turunava and the Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia Giorgi Saganelidze also attended the meeting with Karen Karapetyan.
