First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development took part in the event held in connection with the 10th anniversary of the company "Georgian Products". Levan Davitashvili congratulated the managers and employees of the beneficiary enterprise of the Enterprise Georgia Agency’s program on their anniversary and noted that the company is a good example of successful cooperation between the state and the private sector.
"Georgian Products" is a pet furniture manufacturing company that has been successfully exporting its products to the EU countries and the USA for ten years already. The company produces mover 100 types of products, which are made from environmentally friendly, certified raw materials. It should be noted that more than 550 people are employed in the enterprise.
Within the framework of the Enterprise Georgia Agency’s programs, the company benefited from infrastructural support - in particular, with the support of the National State Property Agency, the company was given a plot of land of 10 000m3, and in 2014-2020 it benefited from the program's access to finance component, in particular, it received interest co-financing for credit/leasing. Within the framework of the Enterprise Georgia Agency’s industrial program, "Georgian Products" LLC has utilized a total of 3458199 GEL (1 loan, 4 leasing) for the 5 projects, the purpose of which was the construction of the enterprise and the purchase of the equipment necessary for production. The total investment of the project amounted to more than 4000000 GEL.
"This is a production that, in fact, creates a new industry, export products and employs people in Georgia. I think the company is a good example of how competitive, successful production can be created in our country, which is a part of strengthening the industrial potential of the state. The Enterprise Georgia Agency’s programs helped many enterprises in the most difficult, initial stage, and its goal was to create more businesses of this type in the country," – Levan Davitashvili stated.
As noted at the event, the high-tech production base, continuous production cycle, eco-friendly standard and safe working environment for employees are the features that distinguish the enterprise and why more than a million EU consumer families use "MADE IN GEORGIA" products, which has become a defining sign of quality.
The Minister of Economy emphasized that Georgia still has great opportunities in this regard. Among them, the Enterprise Georgia Agency’s plans to significantly increase production potential and promote such types of production, as they allow to fully utilize the advantages that the free trade formats offer.
"The fact that the products manufactured in Georgia are competitive is the result of a properly planned policy by the state. We still have a long way to go to fully exploit the industrial potential that the country has. We are creating this industrial potential from scratch, which will allow us to employ more people decently, be successful and create more economy," – Levan Davitashvili commented.
