24-09-2024

On September 27, 2024, under the auspices of the United Nations Tourism Organization, Georgia will host the World Tourism Day for the first time. This year's theme is "Tourism and Peace".

Within the framework of the large-scale event, high-ranking guests, ministers of tourism, representatives of international organizations and the field of tourism will visit Georgia from many countries of the world.
Discussion panels will be held within the framework of the World Tourism Day, where the world trends of tourism development and the importance of peace in terms of the development of the industry will be discussed.
Hosting the World Tourism Day event in Georgia will significantly contribute to the strengthening the country's tourism awareness at the international level.

In the spring of 2023, 38 member countries of the European Commission of the United Nations World Tourism Organization unanimously supported the initiative of the Georgian delegation to celebrate the World Tourism Day in Georgia in 2024.

The World Tourism Day has been annually celebrated by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) since 1979, on September 27.
