“I think that, in fact, all the issues that concern Georgian business today, a large part of Georgian society, were answered. The discussion was especially focused on the perspective and vision of the future, including the government’s course, because, unfortunately, despite many explanations, despite frequent communication, these issues are being appealed to, including by representatives of opposition forces or various groups of society,” – the First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development said after a meeting with the business sector at the Government Administration.

According to Levan Davitashvili, the meeting between the Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and representatives of large businesses was held in an interesting, dialogue-like format - the largest businesses of Georgia were represented there, businessmen with different positions and opinions - those who support the government’s course and people who have questions. According to the First Vice Prime Minister, the Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze explained the government’s course in great detail.

“We are faithful to our promises that we gave to the people during the elections - that we are going to Europe with dignity and prosperity, and this path will definitely be successful and we will ultimately achieve the results we plan. The Prime Minister spoke about all of this in great detail and in detail. Of course, we touched on the current processes - the extreme polarization that exists in society and the challenges that are currently facing stability in the country. Of course, both business and all groups of society want peace and prosperity in our country. Therefore, regardless of the political platform of various groups of our society or business, I think that everyone has the same desire - for more prosperity and, perhaps, a stable and predictable development environment in the country” – Levan Davitashvili said.

In addition, the First Vice Prime Minister emphasized that business, economic processes in general, are sensitive to political events, and therefore peace and stability are the primary prerequisites for continued economic development. Therefore, as Levan Davitashvili noted, this was the subject of discussion, as well as the conversation around existing expectations. According to him, the Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze made a detailed analysis of the current processes and the situation.

“We talked about the forecasts, which, I think, were quite convincing for a large part of the business. However, as businessmen also made a statement after the meeting, there are people in business, including heads of large businesses, who have different opinions. Therefore, of course, the dialogue should continue, the Prime Minister is fully prepared for this” – Levan Davitashvili said.
