Total of 5,1 Million Tourist Marking All-time Record Recorded in 2024

In 2024, Georgia hosted a record number of tourist visits, reaching a historic high of 5,1 million, which represents a 9% increase compared to the previous year. When compared to 2019, the number of tourist visits showed a slight increase of 0,2%.

A total of 7 368 149 international travelers visited Georgia in 2024, marking a 4,2% increase over 2023. Compared to 2019, this figure reflects a significant rise of 78,7%.

"2024 was a successful year for the tourism industry of our country, with a record number of tourist visits exceeding 5,1 million. Based on our diversification policy, it is noteworthy and gratifying that last year saw a record level of tourists from countries such as Israel, the USA, France, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and other nations with high purchasing power," - Mariam Kvrivishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia noted.

The year also saw record numbers of international visitors from countries including Turkey (1336834 visits), Israel (310982 visits), Kazakhstan (178930 visits), India (124335 visits), China (88583 visits), Saudi Arabia (88298 visits), Uzbekistan (64259 visits), the USA (51728 visits), France (28302 visits), Greece (27557 visits), Kuwait (27277 visits), Latvia (22297 visits), and the United Arab Emirates (14889 visits), among others.

Regarding the fourth quarter of 2024, the data revealed a significant increase in tourist and international traveler visits. Between October and December 2024, Georgia saw 1098890 international tourist visits, an 8,4% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Compared to 2019, this represented a 0,8% rise. Additionally, in the fourth quarter of 2024, a total of 1573488 international travelers visited Georgia, reflecting a 4,5% increase over the same period in 2023, and a remarkable recovery of 74,2% compared to 2019.
