A significant increase in exports was recorded in January 2025. Compared to January of the previous year, exports was increased by 19,3%, reaching 403,8 million USD.
Imports was increased by 45,4% in January 2025, reaching 1602,5 million USD. The trade turnover was 2,0 billion USD, which is by 39,2% higher than the figure for the corresponding period of the previous year.
"The preliminary data for January trade are already available, and we see that the trade turnover exceeds approximately 2 billion USD. Exports was also increased, which is the most important thing for us, reaching 403 million USD. However, imports have also increased, amounting to 1602,5 million USD. In total, all this indicates that consumption in Georgia has increased, and economic activity in January was quite high," – the First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili noted.
It is noteworthy that a record volume of goods exports and trade turnover was recorded in 2024. In 2024, exports was increased by 7,8%, reaching 6,6 billion USD, while trade turnover was increased by 8,3% reaching 23,5 billion USD.
