“Batumi and the entire Adjara region are a growing resort destination for Georgia. By the end of 2025, for the first time in history, annual passenger traffic at Batumi International Airport will exceed a record high of 1,2 million people. In the first 8 months of 2025, Batumi International Airport has served 840 893 passengers, which is by 32% higher figure compared to the same period of last year. The frequency of flights has also been increased by 45%. Currently, 22 airlines operate flights on 24 routes at Batumi Airport, with approximately 160 frequencies per week. Given the growth trend, the infrastructure of this airport needs to be expanded and its capacity increased. It should be noted that among the country’s international airports, Batumi International Airport has the highest rate of passenger traffic growth” – Mariam Kvrivishvili said. According to the Minister, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development is working actively with TAV Georgia to ensure that Batumi Airport continues to develop sustainably and in line with market demands.
It is worth noting that TAV Georgia also purchased additional equipment to ensure the smooth operation of Batumi International Airport.
