Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, met with Gevorg Papoyan, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, who is in Georgia as part of the Armenian President’s delegation’s official visit.
The meeting highlighted the importance of the Armenian President’s official visit for the further development of Georgia-Armenia relations, during which meetings were held in both bilateral and expanded formats. Mariam Kvrivishvili focused on the meeting between the presidents of the two countries, during which the parties discussed a wide range of Georgia-Armenia relations, including trade and economic ties.
“At the meeting with the Minister of Economy of Armenia, we talked about how important peace in the region is for the two countries to continue sustainable and stable economic development. We also discussed ongoing projects, as well as new initiatives that will further strengthen trade and economic relations between Georgia and Armenia. Special emphasis was placed on transport, logistics, bilateral trade, tourism, and strengthening cooperation in the field of investments” – Mariam Kvrivishvili noted.
The ministers also discussed Georgia-Armenia cooperation in the transport and logistics sector in both regional and bilateral formats.
“I am sure that as a result of the official visit of the President of Armenia, based on the existing strategic cooperation between the countries, we will ensure the deepening of trade and economic ties through joint efforts and the growth of economic activities between Georgia and Armenia” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated.
Tamar Ioseliani, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development and Lasha Abashidze, General Director of Georgian Railway also attended the meeting.
