Low-cost Airline Norwegian Enters Georgian Aviation Market with Copenhagen-Tbilisi-Copenhagen Flight from June 2026

Another low-cost European airline, Norwegian, is entering the Georgian aviation market. The second-largest airline in Scandinavia will begin operating on the Georgian market from the summer of 2026.

Norwegian will operate direct scheduled flights on the Copenhagen-Tbilisi-Copenhagen route between the capitals of the Kingdom of Denmark and Georgia twice a week starting from June 27.

The entry of one of Europe’s leading airlines into the Georgian market once again underscores Georgia’s successful aviation policy, including in the direction of market diversification, as well as the growing dynamics of the development of the tourism industry and the country’s correct positioning in international markets.

Scandinavian countries are one of the most important target markets for the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development in the process of developing the aviation and tourism sectors. Direct regular air traffic between Tbilisi and Copenhagen will significantly increase connectivity in this direction, which in turn will have a positive impact on attracting high-spending tourists to Georgia and, consequently, on the growth of revenue from the tourism sector.

It is noteworthy that there has never been direct regular air traffic between the two capitals before, though Kutaisi International Airport connected Georgia with Copenhagen via direct air route.
