Tamar Ioseliani visited London together with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, who participates in the 34th session of the UN International Maritime Organization Assembly.

“Italy’s maritime employment market is particularly attractive for Georgian seafarers. We have a desire to move to a new stage of cooperation that will strengthen employment opportunities and expand training programs, which will significantly increase interest in maritime specialties” – Tamar Ioseliani noted.

According to the Deputy Minister, active cooperation with Italy in these fields creates an important platform that will strengthen the competitiveness of Georgian seafarers on the international market.

“Georgia’s maritime educational sector actively cooperates with Italian scientific and academic circles. Our goal is to further deepen this partnership and give it a complex character in various directions, including professional training for seafarers, innovative study programs, digital navigation, green shipping skills, and hydrographic research” – Tamar Ioseliani said.

At the bilateral meeting, the parties also discussed a new phase of cooperation encompassing maritime education, seafarer employment and navigation safety.
