In January 2026, Georgia’s exports, compared to the same period last year, was increased by 19% totaling 480,4 million USD.
Regarding imports, the volume was decreased by 34,5% in January, reaching 1117,0 million USD. During the same period, the trade deficit was improved by 664 million USD compared to last year, standing at 636,6 million USD. Excluding the effect of one-time imports from the previous year, the trade deficit was improved by 149 million USD.
It is noteworthy that record volumes of exports and trade turnover were recorded in 2025, since last year, exports had been increased by 11,2% reaching 7,3 billion USD, while trade turnover had been increased by 10, 3% totaling 25,9 billion USD.
