Mariam Kvrivishvili Met with IMF Mission

The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, held a meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, led by Alejandro Hajdenberg. The meeting covered a broad spectrum of cooperation issues between Georgia and the IMF, as well as Georgia’s economic indicators, sectoral trends, and ongoing and upcoming reforms in the energy and transport sectors. Discussions also touched upon the investment climate and large-scale infrastructure projects.

As the Minister noted, the positive dynamics of the country’s economic growth continue - an economic growth of 7,5% was recorded in 2025, while in January 2026, the growth reached 7,9%. The Minister highlighted major infrastructure projects, which will facilitate the growth of foreign direct investment. Mariam Kvrivishvili drew attention to the major investment by Eagle Hills and noted that the projects to be implemented in Tbilisi and Adjara will increase the country’s tourism potential and bring significant economic benefits to the country.

Mariam Kvrivishvili highlighted that the core directions of Georgia’s development reform agenda are focused on strengthening macroeconomic resilience, increasing national savings and boosting productivity.

Deputy Ministers of Economy and Sustainable Development also participated in the meeting.
